What are the Disruptive Franchise Awards?

In its first year, the Disruptive Franchise Awards recognise UK based franchisees, franchisors and brands who are using disruptive strategies, products, services or approaches. The awards aim to reward franchise brands that push the envelope and do things at the cutting edge of innovation.

Who were the winners?

There were nearly one hundred entrants across nine categories. Notable winners were CYCLEme Tots (Inventive Franchise of the Year), diddi dance (Best Online Presence) and Lee Savage Martial Arts (Disruptive Franchisor of the Year).

What was Sharesy doing there?

Sharesy sponsored the Revolutionary Franchise of the Year award. Dan (our COO) took to the stage and presented the winning award to Walfinch. The team then joined other attendees for presentations from guest speakers, some networking and admiring the beautiful view of Oxfordshire Golf Club. We even took part in a TikTok with AnneMarie Martin, founder and franchisor of diddi dance.

Who were the guest speakers?

Jen Chapman-Boffin shared her story and challenges with mental health. She's on a mission to transform the franchise industry with training, workshops and consultancy. Katy Tereshchenko (Personal Stylist) taught us all about colour analysis and the impact the colours we wear can have on how we feel and how people perceive us.

Finally, Jo Middleton talked about why she launched the Disruptive Franchise Awards as a not-for-profit, with all surplus funds being donated to MQ Mental Health. A spokesperson from MQ Mental Health then gave us an update on how the money raised will help fund their research projects.

Will the awards be back next year?

Yes! Following on from the success of the inaugural Disruptive Franchise Awards in 2023, they'll be back in 2024. Full details will be confirmed later this year with entries opening on 4th November 2023. Keep your eyes on their website for more info.
